"Let us not tire of preaching love, it is the force that will overcome the world. Let us not tire of preaching love. Though we see that waves of violence succeed in drowning the fire of Christian love, love must win out; it's the only thing that can." -- Oscar Romero

Bono is a singer. I really don't see why people make such a huge fuss about what he has to say. Ignore him. Pay attention to the things that actually matter.
why would i ignore a singer that speaks more truth (in word/song and deed) than some who claim to follow Jesus?
Dear Anonymous: Long Sigh. Not even sure where you're going, what you mean, or why you would oppose that quote, or Bono. Wow.
ha, things that actually matter? like, the words of Christ?
Pay attention to the words, not silly men like Bono. I don't much pay attention to way-overpaid celebities that are full of themselves. And I don't appreciate the condescending "long sigh".
Actually, I agree with anonymous - why attribute those words to Bono?
I can't stand it when we make it seem like anything he says is some big deal. He's not - he's just some guy in a rock band. My heros are REAL heros - not some left leaning rocker who lobs out quotes that we're supposed to fawn all over and say "wow - he's even cooler and more concerned about stuff then that Oprah"
Anonymous...
I am sorry for being condescending. That was out of line.
So, you want us to pay attention to what Bono said, but ignore Bono? I don't know much about Bono, but from the little I do know, it sounds like he cares about people and I listen to people who care about people. Heck, I don't even need to go that far. It sounds like he's a person, and I listen to people, I pay attention to people. I think that's a good thing.
Bono doesn't just lob quotes out there, most christians do that. Bono is a man of action, Bono isn't just concerned about stuff. What does being concerned with stuff do for anybody without the actions.
If I say things about my heart and the children of El Salvador, I would hope nobody would shut me down and say "don't listen to him, he's just a geeky computer guy" does it matter what the occupation is of the person if they are taking action? I would hope people would see the actions.
Bono sure is full of something... Something I seek to have more of.
Oohh, Boondock Saints flashback:
"These are not polite suggestions!"
